Funmilola Ogunnoiki
Batch 018
Employer- Matrix Limited
Role-Secretary

Funmi quit her former job because she wanted to further her education. After she did, it became a bit difficult to secure another one. She was a job seeker who became frustrated after applying for some jobs but received no response. She heard about WAVE from her sister who received a flyer during one of our outreach activities- town storming. She applied to the programme and was admitted after being screened. The most challenging part of the programme for Funmi was resuming early to avoid being expelled from the programme. "Waking up early was not easy at all. I had to wake earlier than I would normally get up, do my chores and dash down to the academy hoping that I was not late. The experience was fantastic, especially when we were asked to make bags with newspaper. It was something I had never done before but it was my  memorable experience. One thing that surprised me was the fact that I could speak  and address people in public without being shy."

The most important skill Funmi learned at WAVE that she applies on the job is time management- the ability to manage her activities within an allotted time. In the near future, Funmi would like to run an interior decoration company. Her advice to upcoming batches is 'Endure the pain and disregard the shame. Enduring sometimes can take you a long way."

Funmi secured a job as a secretary with Matrix Limited a day after graduation.
