Samuel Ajose
Kitchen Assistant, Craft Gourmet
Samuel heard about WAVE from his Local
Government Council in Eti-Osa. He applied to WAVE because he wanted to acquire
skills and earn a living by himself. Before then, he had been dependent on his
mother, for whom he was working free.
What surprised him the most about
WAVE was the fact that he had to go through training. He had thought, when he
heard about the programme, that he would instantly get a job. The most
challenging aspect of the programme for Samuel was waking up early, because he
was never used to it.
Samuel job-shadowed at Calitos
Restaurant as an assistant bartender where he learned how to make cocktail.
He currently works with Craft
Gourmet as a kitchen assistant. He successfully landed this job only one month
post-graduation.
Samuel would like to further his
education and hopefully become a footballer.
He
advises WAVERS to be focused and learn to endureLeadership is not just about giving energy ... it's unleashing other people's energy.” – Paul Polman
