As a House Keeper, I had Almost Lost Hope

But for Wave, Daniel would have remained frustrated, without hope and unable to meet his daily needs. Working as a cleaner, a factory worker and even a house keeper, he could not pursue his dreams. Daniel earned an a average of 20,000 monthly, this was hardly enough for him to provide basic needs for himself. However, during Daniel's leisure, he attended dance rehearsals; it was during one of those rehearsals that Daniel got to know about WAVE.

One splendid evening, as usual, Daniel went for his dance rehearsal and he met a WAVE alumni. The Alumni gave him a flier about WAVE, Daniel was happy to have found out that  WAVE had something to do with employment, in fact, everything. Before he started the training, Daniel had expectations, and of course, these expectations were met during the training. He trained at the Lekki academy and the only challenge he faced during his training was that he had to wake up early every morning so as to beat traffic. However, during his job shadow, Daniel expressed that "though I had some challenges with my employer and the older members of staff because they were not easy to relate with, I eventually found a way to befriend them." He shadowed at Chef Embassy, Lekki, as a bar assistant and as a cook.

During his shadow period, Daniel practiced the skills he learned at WAVE, especially his communication and hospitality skills. He stated that: "in general, I learned how to manage pressure and also how to study people's emotions and interact with them accordingly".
He was retained after shadowing and continued working as a cook; he only had to leave because the company was shut down for the employer's personal reasons. Currently, David works at Frozen Rolls, Lekki, providing satisfactory service to customers. At Frozen Rolls, he has learned to manage his time and relate with different patrons.

Finally, from the experience Daniel has gathered, he believes that someday, he will own a restaurant. In addition, he recommends WAVE to job seekers and advises that they should never give up but focus on whatever they set their minds to do.
